About the glider

Glider serial Nr. 63 was delivered 1984 by Schemp Hirth to it`s first owner in Switzerland. Until 2015 it was flown only by its owner and exceptionally by a good friend of him. 2015 it was sold, due to age of the owner, to me and my friend. The history shows no damages or accidents and the glider was regularly upgraded and supervised by a CAMO (Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Organisation).

The Nimbus 3 serves ultimate gliding expirience. According the manufacturer the glide-ratio is around 60! Measured analysis (SeeYou) showed that the glider is still capable for 56-57. Fun starts with some water ballast. It`s easy to follow the latest 18m-Rockets, with the advantage when thermals weakening to reduce wing-load to 27kg/m2. Then you are able to follow the paragliders in the thermals.

It is dedicated for those who want full expirience with little price. I was always proud of beeing a Nimbus owner. It`s definitive still an attraction on every glider-airfield.
